Vrystaat Landbou beplan plaasmoord protes in Hennenman

Hiertydens is Mark Regal noodlottig gewond.

Free State Agriculture plans farm murder protest in Hennenman

Free State Agriculture today appealed to the organization’s members to support the Hills family on Monday, 16 November in Hennenman. This is in light of the farm attack in Hennenman in which Pieter Hills was killed and his son, Eddie, was initially seriously injured and passed away yesterday.

Free State Agriculture (FSA) intends to attend the bail application of the alleged farm attackers. “Courts must take note of the public’s anger and frustration with murder in the rural areas. The court must take us into account when considering bail for accused people who commit crimes in rural areas, specifically farm murders”, says Francois Wilken, president of Free State Agriculture (FSA).

This announcement also follows the latest farm attack on the Regal family in Odendaalsrus in which Mark Regal was fatally wounded.

“Our country has lost another farmer, a food producer. The crime onslaught on the agricultural sector and in our country continues unabated and this is unacceptable. Farmers, but also the public as a whole, are no longer prepared to allow the lawlessness.” Wilken said.

The arrangements for the protest action will be announced soon.

FSA will ensure that the protest focuses on the campaign of #StopPlaasmoorde. All organizations and members of the public are welcome to contact

FSA for more details on the protest action and participation is free, but with the request to act within the law and the protest arrangements at all times.
