Veiligheidwerkswinkels sal in Maart en April 2019 regoor die provinsie aangebied word om veral Vrystaat Landbou (VL) se veiligheidskoördineerders te bemagtig en op te lei.

Volgens dr Jane Buys, Veiligheidsrisiko-analis van VL, sal die werkswinkels in streke gehou word waar dit nog nie aangebied is nie. Dit sal onder meer fokus op die veiligheidshandleiding. “Alle veiligheidskoördineerders van landbouverenigings en gebiedskantore in daardie streke word gevra om betrokke te wees,” het Buys gesê.

Die werkswinkels sal as opleiding vir veiligheidskoördineerders dien, veral binne VL se strukture. Volgens Buys sal die belangrikheid van misdaadinligting ook aandag geniet.

Buiten bogenoemde, sal Gernie Botha, Regsadviseur van VL, ook byvoorbeeld opleiding oor siviele arrestasies en grondbesseting gee.

Free State Agriculture encourages members to attend safety workshops 

Safety workshops will be presented across the province in March and April 2019 to in particular empower and train Free State Agriculture (FSA) safety coordinators.

According to Dr Jane Buys, Safety and Risk Analyst at FSA, the workshops will be held in regions where they have not yet been presented. It will focus on the safety manual. “All safety coordinators of agricultural associations and area offices in those regions are asked to attend,” Buys said.

The workshops will serve as training for safety coordinators, especially within FSA structures. According to Buys, the importance of crime information will also receive attention.

Apart from the above, Gernie Botha, Legal Advisor at FSA, will for example also give training on civil arrests and land occupations.
