Ek wil net graag uitvind of dit wettig is om spoedkamera op steil afdraande op te stel.

Op die R101 pad so 6 km vanaf Bela-Bela (Warmbad) by Klein Kariba oord in rigting van Modimolle (Nylstroom) word daar wel so kamera op verskillende dae geplaas.

Hoe wettig is dit ?

Antwoord:

Aangesien die spoedgrens op ‘n pad dieselde is vir die hele pad is daar geen beperking op waar daar spoedwetstoepassing gedoen mag word nie.

Unfortunately, whilst it may not be ethical for traffic authorities to place speed cameras at the bottom of a steep hill, it is not illegal either.  The reason that I say it is somewhat unethical is that the possibilities of persons exceeding the stated speed limit unintentionally are increased where steep declines are concerned.

However, having said this, one also needs to consider that the imposition/display of a speed limit does not come  with a proviso that this is only applicable when traveling on a flat or incline, but to the entire road.  So therefore, whether one is travelling on a flat, an incline or a decline, the speed limit remains the same and breaking it is not acceptable.
